Role Overview

UpGuard is looking for software engineers across multiple levels to join its Product Engineering team as the business continues to grow quickly. The role sits in a fast-moving cybersecurity environment where the work involves making complex data understandable through smart product experiences and building integrated solutions that meaningfully improve customer security posture.

The team operates in a collaborative, cross-functional setup with product managers, designers, and other engineers. The focus is on shipping value quickly while maintaining strong standards for security, reliability, and thoughtful engineering. Clean code, good design choices, and a strong product mindset are highly valued.

What You Will Be Doing

• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver polished product experiences.
• Take full ownership of new customer-facing features from design through delivery.
• Strengthen application reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Participate in code reviews, technical conversations, and architecture decisions.
• Build deeper knowledge of cybersecurity and how the internet works while solving challenging domain problems.

What You Need to Succeed

• At least 4 years of relevant software engineering experience in product-focused, technology-driven companies.
• Genuine interest in trying emerging technologies, especially AI and LLMs, to improve both developer efficiency and customer outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, React, and modern web development.
• Strong backend development ability, with Go used in the current stack.
• Comfort working with relational databases, particularly Postgres.
• Motivation to shape product features that improve the user experience and create business value.
• Ability to make practical engineering trade-offs between delivery speed, quality, and business priorities.

Preferred Advantage

• Background in cybersecurity is helpful, but not mandatory if you are willing to learn.
• Experience building complex systems and applications from the ground up alongside cross-functional partners.
• A strong focus on user experience and a desire to build products that create real customer impact.
• A humble, team-oriented approach with a strong desire to contribute to shared success.
• Experience with React, Go, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform is a bonus.
