Overview
Google is seeking talented software engineers to develop cutting-edge technologies that impact billions of users worldwide. This role focuses on creating scalable systems beyond traditional web search, spanning areas such as AI, distributed computing, networking, and mobile technologies. Engineers in this position will have the chance to work on critical projects affecting Google's infrastructure and cloud offerings, including Vertex AI.
Responsibilities
- Develop system or product code with high standards.
- Engage in or lead design discussions to select optimal technologies alongside peers and stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain best practices including style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Update and create documentation or educational material in line with product changes and user needs.
- Identify, debug, and resolve product or system issues by examining impacts related to hardware, networking, or service quality.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience using one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
Preferred:
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experienced with data structures and algorithms for a minimum of 2 years.
- Proven background in creating accessible technologies.

They support internal Google operations, Google Cloud customers, and billions of users globally. This team drives innovation through developing future-facing technology across software and hardware domains.
