The Ammortal Chamber integrates multiple scientifically validated wellness technologies into a unified experience, serving wellness clinics, specialty spas, sports teams, and biohackers. Our small, startup-style team includes hardware and software engineers, health experts, and entrepreneurs. After successfully launching our product, we've experienced rapid growth.
This role presents an opportunity to engage deeply in hands-on software development, with paths to leadership and the ability to influence wellness technologies directly. Collaboration across disciplines enables innovation aimed at improving client well-being.
Role Overview
The Full-Stack Software Engineer position focuses on developing and supporting the software behind our Chamber technology. Responsibilities span frontend interfaces through backend services and embedded systems. Core technologies include Go, Python, microservices architectures, and MQTT. Duties also encompass maintaining earlier versions of the Chamber software.
This role supports Ammortal's mission to deliver cutting-edge wellness products relied upon by specialty clinics and athletes. Working in a cross-functional, dynamic environment, the engineer will engage with web applications, system programming, IoT communications, and containerized solutions. Additional tasks include quality assurance and technical support, granting full lifecycle ownership and insights. As we expand, this position will shape the architecture and feature set of the next-gen wellness tech.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and enhance features across the full software stack for Chamber technology.
- Participate in architectural planning for our microservices platform.
- Support and develop updates for legacy Chamber software.
- Engage in quality assurance efforts to ensure robust software performance.
- Offer technical support to resolve customer product issues as required.
- Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams—including software, hardware, operations, and customer experience—to develop comprehensive solutions.

Technical Requirements
- Experience with at least one modern high-level language such as JavaScript or Python.
- Experience with at least one lower-level language such as Go, C, or C++.
- Comfortable working within Linux operating systems and using the command line.
- Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
- Experience using project management tools like Asana, Jira, Linear, or similar.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Front-end development experience with frameworks like Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
- Back-end development using Go.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and design principles.
- Experience deploying containerized applications using Docker.
- Working knowledge of Debian-based Linux distributions.
- Experience with IoT communication protocols such as MQTT.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, e.g., GitHub Actions workflows.
- Shell scripting skills, particularly Bash.
- Exposure to IoT hardware or hardware/software integration.
- Experience using AI collaboration tools and intelligent agents.
Additional Desirable Experience
- Previous full-stack development roles.
- Work with embedded systems or IoT devices.
- Experience building or maintaining real-time communication systems.
- Contributions to open source or personal projects demonstrating full-stack breadth.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary ranges from $115,000 to $150,000. Health, dental, and vision insurance cover 80% of premiums. The position is located in Mars Hill, NC, and requires hybrid work with onsite presence between 40% and 80%, depending on assigned projects.
