Senior UX Designer

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Lead/Senior UX Designer to shape and strengthen UX design practices across the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) cluster in Singapore. This position combines hands-on design work with broader leadership responsibilities, including steering cross-ministry efforts and partnering closely with senior stakeholders across several teams and initiatives.

Experience and Background

• You should bring at least 8 years of progressive experience in UX/UI design, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• A strong history of guiding design work across several projects at the same time is important.
• Direct exposure to senior decision-makers and C-level leadership is expected.
• Experience gained in government, enterprise, or similarly complex large organizations is preferred.
• Your portfolio should show product thinking, strategic contribution, design process maturity, and clear evidence of impact.

Technical Capability

• You should be comfortable using research methods and usability testing tools to inform design decisions.
• Advanced skill with design software is required.
• A solid grasp of responsive design, design systems, and reusable component libraries is important.
• Working knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML and CSS, plus the ability to work effectively with developers, is needed.

Leadership and Collaboration

• You must be able to present ideas clearly and communicate persuasively at all levels of the organization.
• Experience running design workshops, critique reviews, and collaborative working sessions is expected.
• Strong people skills and the ability to align different viewpoints into a shared direction are essential.
• You should be able to mentor designers and help build a high-quality design culture.
• Strategic judgment is needed to turn business goals into practical, user-focused solutions.

Working Context

• The role involves managing work across multiple active projects with ITG teams.
• You will collaborate with vendors and outside partners on ministry systems.
• Frequent interaction with stakeholders from policy, operations, and technology functions will be part of the job.
• Projects may include citizen-facing digital products, case management platforms, content systems, and data analytics tools.
