Senior Technical Product Owner - AI Platform (m/f/d)

Overview

Join SIXT's Data Science team in Pullach near Munich as a Senior Technical Product Owner, leading the vision and strategy for the company's central MLOps/LLMOps Platform and AI service tooling. You will empower a broad group of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and product teams in developing next-generation AI applications.

Role and Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the vision, roadmap, and backlog for two core platform products: the MLOps/LLMOps Platform and the AI Service components (including LLM Gateway, Document Ingestion, Observability, and internal chatbot platform).
• Make informed priority decisions, manage tradeoffs, and maintain accountability for delivering business value.
• Lead all agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning sessions, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure focused and unblocked team progress.
• Guide and moderate technical discussions, identifying critical points and driving teams toward decisive outcomes.
• Represent user needs and transform them into platform capabilities that enhance adoption.
• Manage dependencies and risks across products and coordinate with stakeholders internationally.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

• Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, Technical Program Manager, or Agile Delivery Lead for software platforms.
• Strong ownership mentality to set direction, prioritize actions, and drive results beyond simple coordination.
• Robust technical understanding of MLOps/LLMOps and platform engineering sufficient to steer tech discussions and make technical prioritization decisions.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as SageMaker and Bedrock, machine learning and LLM lifecycles, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, LLM gateways, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic frameworks like LangGraph and LangChain is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communicator capable of explaining complex subjects clearly and influencing stakeholders in a global environment.
• Fluency in English, the primary language for this international team and collaborating stakeholders.
