Job Overview

Celanese is looking for a skilled and highly motivated Data Engineer with expertise in Power BI to oversee the creation and maintenance of ETL pipelines, dashboards, and data analytics solutions. This role requires working with tools such as Alteryx, Python, SparkSQL, Cognite Data Fusion, and GraphDB, while also mentoring junior team members and ensuring smooth operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable ETL workflows utilizing tools like Alteryx, Informatica, or SSIS.
• Create Python scripts using Streamlit, Pandas, and Numpy for data transformation and automation tasks.
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and security throughout various platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to collect and document detailed requirements.
• Translate business requirements into accurate technical specifications.
• Develop ETL pipelines on Cognite Data Fusion platform and proactively learn related technologies.
• Build and improve interactive Power BI dashboards applying advanced DAX for calculated columns, measures, and KPIs.
• Enhance dashboard performance and user experience through optimization techniques.
• Conduct demos and walkthroughs of BI solutions for stakeholders.
• Write and fine-tune complex SQL queries for data ingestion, extraction, and analytical purposes.
• Model data and manage graph databases such as GraphDB, Neo4j, or Amazon Neptune.
• Design graph-based data schemas and optimize query performance.
• Lead a small team of junior members (2-3) and manage production support and change control processes.

Qualifications

• More than 7 years of experience in Data Engineering with strong Power BI development skills.
• Expertise in SparkSQL, Python (including Streamlit, Numpy, Pandas), and ETL tools (Alteryx, Informatica, SSIS).
• Hands-on experience or working knowledge of GraphDB or similar graph database technologies.
• Experience in data modeling and database schema design.
• Familiarity with Cognite Data Fusion is preferred; otherwise, eagerness to self-learn.
• Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven experience in production environment support and change management.
• Capable of leading and mentoring a small team of junior engineers.
