Senior Software Engineer - Money (Abacus)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy robust, efficient software solutions ensuring top-notch quality.
• Mentor and coach junior developers to elevate team skill levels and deliver consistently high performance.
• Create and maintain scalable, high-performance APIs both for internal and external consumption, emphasizing accuracy, reliability, and security using PHP Laravel.
• Implement event-driven system architectures utilizing PHP and Go programming languages.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Data, Product, DevOps, Stakeholders, and Design to drive project success.
• Develop Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines leveraging GitLab to enhance automation.
• Proactively identify and implement improvements in development workflows and practices.
• Lead by example in upholding rigorous engineering standards.
• Analyze data insights through BigQuery Data Warehouse.
• Design and maintain metrics, dashboards, and monitoring frameworks using Datadog to augment visibility and system reliability.
• Manage deployments and upkeep of projects on cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform.

Requirements

• Minimum of six years professional experience in software development.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education or certifications in computer science, programming, or object-oriented software engineering.
• Expertise in PHP and Laravel framework with additional proficiency in frontend JavaScript technologies such as Vue, React, Angular, or Vanilla JS.
• Strong background in backend system design including caching, fault tolerance, and performance tuning.
• Proven skills in optimizing SQL queries and large-scale data processing for high transaction throughput.
• Experience or familiarity with cloud-native databases and Google BigQuery is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Golang is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes or similar technologies.
