Role Summary

This position focuses on guaranteeing the quality and technical conformance of rotating machinery servicing, including pumps, turbines, and compressors. The role requires ensuring compliance with Sulzer's OEM guidelines, customer expectations, and international quality standards while facilitating inspections, formulating repair approaches, and managing quality documentation and procedures.

Key Duties

• Perform inspections at various stages: incoming, during process, and final checks on rotating machinery and parts.
• Create and assess overhaul documentation, providing engineering recommendations.
• Design and update work instructions, technical drawings, and repair protocols based on inspection results.
• Maintain and oversee job packs, checklists, inspection logs, and standard operating procedures.
• Develop and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) coordinating with involved stakeholders.
• Deliver technical assistance on quality control, including reviewing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and selecting appropriate materials.
• Conduct precise dimensional and geometric verifications along with disassembly inspections.
• Handle Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons learned documentation.
• Coordinate and monitor Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and specialized tests performed by external parties.
• Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated, controlled, and traceable according to standards.
• Support operations and project teams by providing status updates and resolving technical quality issues.
• Train personnel on quality methodologies and contribute to LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, quality guidelines, and maintain 5S workplace organization standards.
• Promote and uphold a workplace environment that is safe, clean, and positive.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in quality control, particularly involving rotating equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of centrifugal pumps; experience with compressors or turbines is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
• Experience in developing procedures and managing NCRs is essential.
• Skilled in precision measurements and hands-on workshop inspections.
• Strong understanding of pump hydraulics, mechanical seals, and rotating machinery dynamics.
• Certified in NDT techniques (LPT, MPI, UT Level 2); certification in LEAA lifting and rigging is a plus.
• Familiarity with OEM standards and processes is preferred.
