Senior QA Engineer

Position Summary

Glowingbud is seeking an accomplished Senior QA Engineer or QA Lead with 7 to 8 years of experience specializing in manual and automated testing. The role demands expertise in Playwright automation, API testing, and proficiency using AI-powered testing tools to elevate quality assurance processes. Located in Pune with hybrid working options, this full-time position involves leadership responsibilities and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive manual testing activities including functional, regression, sanity, smoke, exploratory, and user acceptance testing for web and mobile platforms.
• Develop, implement, and sustain robust automation frameworks utilizing Playwright in JavaScript/TypeScript for critical business workflows.
• Integrate AI-enhanced tools and testing agents to boost efficiency, create advanced test cases, streamline automation, and proactively identify defects.
• Perform thorough API testing with Postman and Swagger, validating correctness of request and response cycles, data integrity, and error management; automate API regression tests where feasible.
• Execute performance and load testing leveraging JMeter or equivalent solutions to detect bottlenecks and verify system scalability.
• Test mobile applications on Android and iOS devices, automating essential user interactions and designing scalable test automation strategies.
• Generate and upkeep QA documentation including test plans, strategies, test cases, requirement traceability matrices, defect logs, and release sign-offs; familiarity with Zephyr is advantageous.
• Partner with development, product, and DevOps teams; actively participate in agile sprint ceremonies; mentor junior QA staff to elevate team capability.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Seven to eight years of solid experience in software quality assurance with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong capability in manual and automated testing with Playwright.
• Familiarity with AI-driven automation and cutting-edge QA techniques.
• Proven expertise in web and mobile testing including automation frameworks.
• Advanced API testing skills focusing on RESTful services using Postman and Swagger.
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding QA endeavors and mentoring teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong documentation practices and stakeholder engagement.
• Proactive and responsible approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
