Senior Product Manager - Core Banking Platform

About The Role

Avarda UK operates a suite of proprietary and licensed core banking platforms that underpin consumer lending, credit cards, deposits, and payment services across various European markets. These systems manage key functions such as customer accounts, product configurations, financial transactions, servicing workflows, and integrations within the larger banking ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the product vision, roadmap, and backlog management for the core banking domain spanning multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to prioritize and sequence development efforts related to core systems and integrations.
• Manage product features that govern customer accounts and product lifecycle, including configuration, interest calculations, fees, billing schedules, repayment priorities, servicing actions, and account status changes.
• Drive feature enhancement across lending, credit cards, deposits, and payment services.
• Coordinate with payment and card-processing teams to ensure smooth end-to-end integration between core banking platforms, payment networks, and external partners.
• Implement an "orchestrate, not rip-and-replace" strategy for platform decisions, defining where products operate, migration approaches, and how capabilities are exposed through orchestration and customer channels.
• Convert business, regulatory, operational, and accounting needs into detailed, testable requirements with clear acceptance criteria and ensure requirement-to-test traceability.
• Act as the main contact for platform vendors, overseeing scope definition, acceptance testing, and release approvals.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, compliance, risk management, and engineering colleagues to maintain scalable, compliant platforms that support future growth.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in roles such as Product Manager, Product Owner or Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
• Comprehensive knowledge of core banking operations including customer account management, product setup, interest and fee processing, billing, repayments, servicing, and product lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with platforms supporting consumer lending, credit cards, deposit accounts, or transactional banking products.
• Understanding of payments and card processing workflows, covering SEPA payments, settlements, reconciliations, and integrations.
• Ability to author clear, testable requirements for complex financial and operational processes and manage their implementation through delivery.
• Experience in platform migrations, modernization programs, or system consolidations within active banking environments.
• Comfortable collaborating across business units, engineering, operations, finance, risk, and compliance within regulated settings.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with core banking platforms such as Corniche (Megasol), Mambu, Temenos, Thought Machine, Finastra, TCS BaNCS, FIS, or equivalents.
• Experience managing consumer lending, deposit, card, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), or multi-product banking environments.
• Hands-on vendor platform management including service level agreement oversight, acceptance testing, and release governance.
