Senior Process Engineer

Role Overview

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for delivering conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed design tasks in accordance with project specifications, design codes, and standards, mainly within offshore oil and gas projects. This role includes leadership duties for engineering teams, thorough design calculations and reporting, and coordination with multiple disciplines to ensure project success.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts as a senior or lead engineer, particularly on smaller projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
• Execute design calculations, analyses, and prepare detailed reports and procedures.
• Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and organize short-term work plans in the assigned area.
• Collaborate with various project disciplines to maintain clash-free designs and ensure comprehensive interdisciplinary coordination.
• Identify and raise change notifications or variation orders with supporting documentation and cost estimates.
• Participate in project review, vendor, and engineering meetings, including offshore site surveys as needed.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables covering process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, process safeguarding diagrams, datasheets, design reports, and manuals.
• Support other disciplines with design inputs related to layout, area classification, safety studies, electrical and instrumentation datasheets, and logic diagrams.
• Guide and mentor less experienced engineers to adhere to client and discipline standards and procedures.
• Maintain awareness of project costs and disciplines' resources, including man-hours and capital expenditure estimates.
• Assist project management in deliverable control, scheduling, progress reporting, and budget estimations.
• Participate in technical audits involving internal, customer, and third-party reviews of engineering outputs and vendor documentation.
• Ensure HAZOP action item closure and compliance with health, safety, and environment standards.
• Be flexible regarding assignments to different departments, construction sites, client offices, and assist colleagues during peak workloads or absences.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Between 8 to 15 years of experience in oil and gas projects, especially in detail design for offshore projects with major contractors or consultants.
• Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer or member of a relevant engineering society.
• Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and software used in process engineering.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Organized, motivated, with leadership and supervisory skills.
• Knowledgeable in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), Total Quality Management, and cost control.
