Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Human Performance Specialist to join our Safety Division. This pivotal role is dedicated to enhancing the performance and well-being of Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs), Air Traffic Control Support Officers (ATCSOs), and Engineers, while advancing human factors and safety efforts within our air navigation services.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities span multiple focus areas:

  • Implement and conduct individual and group coaching sessions aimed at performance enhancement.
  • Develop mental well-being programmes, including initiatives such as peer support schemes.
  • Deliver training focused on fatigue management, stress control, and decision-making skills.
  • Provide support for fitness-for-duty evaluations and return-to-work processes.
  • Lead investigations related to human factors and analyze findings to create preventative measures.
  • Contribute to refining the safety management system with insights from studies on workload and fatigue.
  • Design and provide human factors training courses.
  • Establish and maintain Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) programmes offering psychological support post-incident, including facilitating group debriefings and peer support.
  • Monitor effectiveness of these programmes and develop frameworks for post-incident assistance.
  • Conduct organizational assessments through safety culture surveys and focus groups.
  • Analyze operational data to track trends in human performance and develop related metrics and assessment criteria.
  • Make evidence-based recommendations to leadership and assist in forming human performance policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or training in Psychology, Human Factors, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in aviation psychology or human factors.
  • Proven expertise in performance coaching, human factors analysis, safety investigations, and incident reviews.
  • Experience in developing and implementing related programmes.
  • Certification in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) or similar crisis intervention training.

Desirable:

  • Credentials in Aviation or Organizational Psychology and specialization in Human Factors.
  • Experience working within Air Traffic Control or Air Navigation Services environments.
  • Psychometric assessment certification.
  • Background in safety management systems and training facilitation.
