Senior Financial Analyst

About the Role

A prominent Sephora makeup brand is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Los Angeles team on a hybrid work schedule, requiring 2 to 3 days per week in-office presence. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this opportunity suits a finance professional who enjoys a dynamic startup-like setting and excels in collaborating across departments while establishing scalable financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate regular financial reports, KPI dashboards, and customized analyses to deliver actionable business insights.
• Assess monthly financial results, including budget versus actual variances, highlighting significant trends and potential opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow forecasting, and long-range financial planning endeavors.
• Build detailed financial models and provide data-supported recommendations for strategic decisions.
• Contribute to month-end closing procedures such as journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and variance assessments.
• Oversee the company's travel and expense program, including auditing expense reports and reconciling corporate credit cards.
• Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other departments to advance financial projects.
• Assist with audits, tax submissions, banking and financing processes, system implementations, and continual process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in finance, financial planning and analysis, accounting, or the consumer goods sector.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and complex formulas; knowledge of Power Query is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; strong preference for those familiar with NetSuite.
• Robust skills in financial modeling, analysis, and critical thinking.
• Ability to work with extensive datasets and translate financial data into valuable business insights.
• Keen attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and excel in a high-speed, growth-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster cross-functional relationships.

Compensation and Additional Information

The base salary is $95,000 annually, complemented by bonus opportunities. This summary reflects the general nature and level of work expected but is not exhaustive of all responsibilities or qualifications.
