About the Role
James L Williams Middle East is seeking a seasoned and goal-oriented Senior ELV Site Engineer to join our Projects team. The individual will be responsible for steering the execution and on-time delivery of critical ELV and Data Centre projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and budgetary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of ELV and Data Centre projects, from initial planning stages through commissioning and official handover.
- Formulate and apply execution strategies to optimize quality control, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems including Telecom, Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire Alarm systems, and other related technologies.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth coordination and execution.
- Analyze consultant specifications and contract drawings, preparing material submittals for approval by clients and authorities.
- Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures to achieve milestones successfully.
- Perform site inspections to verify compliance with technical specifications, quality benchmarks, and international code standards.
- Support infrastructure initiatives within data centres, aligning power, cooling, and network system activities.
- Manage commissioning schedules, responsibility assignments, test documentation, training materials, and ensure as-built drawings are accurate and complete.
- Engage with local authorities to obtain necessary approvals throughout all project phases.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), requisition materials, create work plans, coordinate subcontractors, manage procurement follow-ups, and assess variation orders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ hands-on experience in ELV system deployment and project execution, ideally within Data Centre, MEP, or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
- Proficient understanding of Telecom, Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, BMS, Fire Alarm, and integrated ELV systems.
- Experienced in project planning, commissioning processes, testing, client interactions, and final project handovers.
- Familiarity with international standards, regulatory approval workflows, and ELV project documentation.
- Certification in Structured Cabling (e.g., Excel, Systimax, R&M, Brand Rex, Opterna) is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in project management, risk evaluation, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Capacity to juggle multiple priorities while ensuring projects meet safety, efficiency, and timely delivery standards.
