Overview
The role entails managing procurement activities for plant maintenance and CAPEX projects, focusing on sourcing goods, services, and contracts related to mechanical, electrical, instrumentation systems, and construction. It involves strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and ensuring procurement governance compliance mainly within the oil and gas sector.
Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement of maintenance-related materials and services, including ME&I, control systems, rotating and static equipment, safety and calibration services.
- Support plant maintenance teams in sourcing critical spares and emergency items.
- Develop sourcing strategies to improve spare availability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Establish framework agreements for regular maintenance services and spare parts.
- Lead procurement activities for shutdowns, turnarounds, and major overhaul events.
- Plan and execute procurement aligned with CAPEX project schedules for engineering, construction, equipment, and installation services.
- Conduct sourcing, tendering, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations for project requirements.
- Work closely with project engineers and managers to support execution timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance and address risks affecting project delivery.
- Develop category strategies to manage maintenance and project expenditures effectively.
- Drive competitive bidding, market benchmarking, and cost-saving initiatives based on Total Cost of Ownership.
- Identify opportunities for supplier standardization and process improvements.
- Engage in regional and global sourcing projects when applicable.
- Evaluate and develop supplier capabilities, conduct performance reviews, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Negotiate and manage various commercial contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance and resolving disputes.
- Manage procurement operations using SAP, Ariba, or similar systems and adhere strictly to governance and audit requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and promote best practices in procurement standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- At least 10 years of significant experience in procurement, with strong emphasis on project procurement.
- Prior work experience in the oil and gas industry is mandatory.
