Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to contribute to a substantial program of work within a government setting in Brisbane. This position is suited to someone who can bridge business and technology teams with confidence, and who brings deep experience in discovery, requirements definition, process analysis, stakeholder coordination, and clear documentation. The role will focus on driving business analysis across complex ICT and business change initiatives, with the aim of improving processes, systems, and service outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of business analysis activities across ICT and business change initiatives.
- Run discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and process redesign discussions.
- Review current-state workflows, identify pain points, and map customer journeys.
- Prepare process maps, user stories, business requirements, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to shape future-state needs.
- Assist with test planning and test execution when needed.
- Develop polished project deliverables and transition/handover materials.
- Support adoption activities, capability improvement, and movement into BAU operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring senior-level business analysis experience delivered on complex ICT and/or business change programs. They should be highly skilled in requirements management from end to end, comfortable facilitating workshops, and able to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Clear communication is essential, especially when translating technical detail for non-technical audiences and vice versa. Strong writing and documentation discipline, along with the ability to follow agreed templates and standards, are also important. Experience in government, public sector, compliance, privacy, or governance environments would be an advantage.
