Job Purpose

This role is primarily responsible for the prompt and accurate handling of outward and inward remittance requests including salary transfers, clearing and collection activities (both inward and outward), and managing post-dated cheques (PDCs) for retail, corporate, and government clients across the Group. The incumbent must strictly follow approved policies and processes related to these financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily reconciliation of suspense and transit accounts related to remittance processing and alert the Supervisor Remittance about any long outstanding transactions to enable prompt follow-up and avoid financial losses.
  • Implement key performance indicators and best operational practices for this role.
  • Operate within the authorized limits of delegated powers.
  • Deliver efficient remittance and bulk processing services (clearing/collection, salary transfers, PDCs) to internal clients such as QNB domestic branches to enhance external customer service for retail, corporate, and government clients.
  • Respond effectively to customer inquiries regarding banking products and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements with internal departments to continuously improve turnaround times.
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with internal teams to advance the Group's goals.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to auditors, compliance, financial control, and risk management teams when required.
  • Strictly follow all automated and manual controls to prevent and detect money transfers linked to suspicious countries, banks, or entities, ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Comply with internal policies and Qatar Central Bank regulations governing outward and inward remittance processing.
  • Report suspicious transactions timely to supervisors or the Head of AML for further action.
  • Strive to minimize errors during request processing and ensure all daily requests are completed accurately within prescribed turnaround times.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and records aligned with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Verify receipt of authorized mandates and employee details prior to processing salary transfers for corporate and government clients.
  • Ensure smooth operation of transaction systems and resolve SWIFT and tested telex issues in coordination with the help desk.
  • Stay updated on developments in fund transfers, SWIFT operations, bulk processing systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain utmost confidentiality of sensitive information and comply with all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements including AML, sanctions, fraud control, data protection, and whistleblowing policies.
  • Understand and apply the Three Lines of Defense risk management framework.
  • Support operational risk management through participation in risk assessments, key risk indicator tracking, incident reporting, and remediation activities.
  • Attend all mandatory internal and external training and seminars to sustain role competence.
  • Maintain professionalism to uphold QNB’s reputation and market leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Information Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, ideally within a prominent international bank or financial institution.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic, both spoken and written.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and banking software applications.
  • Well-versed in remittance and collection regulations, anti-money laundering requirements, and industry best practices.
