Self Checkout Attendant

Position Overview

As a Self Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience by assisting customers with self-service checkouts and ensuring smooth transaction processes. This opportunity offers a valuable chance to build experience in retail customer service.

Key Duties

• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized self-checkout area, keeping it free from clutter, debris, or hazards.
• Guide customers on proper and efficient use of self-checkout systems wherever applicable.
• Promote in-store programs such as company credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives when relevant.
• Monitor customer activity to identify when assistance is necessary and provide timely support.
• When intervening for quality checks or help, courteously explain the reasons to reassure customers that such actions are routine protocol.
• Demonstrate understanding of handling Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately complete the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
• Alert the Customer Service Manager promptly when cash supplies run low or technical issues occur in the self-checkout area.
• Ensure that Scan & Go devices are returned to their proper stations after use.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.15 CAD.

• Minimum age requirement: 16 years or older.
