SAP TM Functional Consultant

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned SAP TM Functional Consultant with 6 to 15 years of experience specializing in Transportation Management to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of SAP TM solutions. This role requires comprehensive business process expertise in logistics and supply chain management, alongside a proven track record in full-cycle SAP TM implementations and system integrations.

The positions are based in Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Gandhinagar with a flexible immediate to 30-day notice period.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and actively contribute to comprehensive SAP TM implementation projects.
• Customize SAP TM modules tailored to meet specific business needs.
• Devise scalable, efficient solutions for transportation management.
• Evaluate client logistics processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Offer expert functional guidance in transportation planning and execution.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
• Coordinate seamless data integration with SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP EWM or similar logistics platforms.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams to manage interfaces including CIF and middleware solutions.
• Configure transportation networks and manage freight units, orders, and carrier tendering mechanisms.
• Oversee transportation charge handling, freight settlement, invoicing, and cost allocation.
• Implement and maintain order integration with SAP TM, including planning profiles, optimizer setup, scheduling, and execution workflows.
• Maintain critical master data such as business partners, products, transportation resources, and dangerous goods.
• Develop functional specifications and test cases; support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production deployment phases.
• Work collaboratively with technical teams to track and rectify identified defects.

Skills and Qualifications

• At least 6 years, up to 15 years, of professional experience with a strong focus on SAP TM modules.
• Hands-on involvement in a minimum of 12 full end-to-end SAP TM implementations.
• Proficient in CIF integration models, transportation network setup, freight unit construction, optimizer configuration, order tendering, carrier determination, and transportation charge management.
• Preferred experience includes working with S/4HANA Embedded TM, SAP EWM integration, global logistics procedures, and dangerous goods management.
• Excellent communication skills, effective stakeholder management, and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Competent in leading client workshops, conducting user acceptance testing, and delivering user training sessions.

Educational Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
• Certification in SAP TM is highly desirable.
