About the Opportunity

Bureau Veritas is seeking multiple Sample Preparation Technicians to join our mineral laboratory based in Whitehorse, Yukon. This full-time, long-term role offers steady, hands-on work where safety, precision, and teamwork are highly valued. You will be responsible for preparing geological samples including rock and soil by processes such as sorting, labeling, crushing, pulverizing, sieving, and packaging. No previous lab experience is necessary as comprehensive training on procedures, safety, and equipment usage will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, label, and organize incoming geological samples.
  • Prepare samples by crushing, pulverizing, and sieving according to established protocols.
  • Process samples accurately and efficiently following lab priorities.
  • Scan and track samples, equipment, quality control checks, and packaged boxes.
  • Perform and document quality inspections during sample preparation.
  • Stop operations and report immediately any quality or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain sample preparation machinery.

  • Available shifts include day (6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday), overnight (5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., Monday to Thursday), weekend day (7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), and weekend night (7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.).
  • Additional pay premiums apply for certain shifts.
  • Base hourly wage is $20.51.
