About the Role
We are collaborating with a cutting-edge AI-driven HR platform supported by prominent investors, seeking a Sales Development Manager to take ownership and advance their outbound sales operations. This role combines leadership with hands-on participation, managing a team of four Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) by establishing cold calling best practices and creating foundational sales playbooks.
This is a pivotal position in an agile 50-employee company, reporting directly to senior executives with significant influence on company expansion strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and enhance the skills of a team of four SDRs through call evaluations, one-on-one meetings, and direct deal involvement.
- Manage the entire outbound sales process including developing playbooks, defining ideal customer profiles (ICP), and emphasizing cold calling as the core outreach method.
- Develop AI-enhanced outreach sequences using technologies such as Clay, Lemlist, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives (AEs) and Revenue Operations to ensure smooth pipeline transitions and optimize conversion rates.
- Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and consistently elevate team productivity.
Candidate Profile
- At least 2 years of experience managing a BDR/SDR team — a strict prerequisite.
- Between 5 and 10 years of total experience in outbound B2B SaaS sales.
- Exceptional cold-calling skills with the ability to lead by example and train others to excel.
- Willing to maintain approximately 30% individual contributor sales alongside management duties.
- Background in fast-growing, venture capital-backed B2B SaaS companies is highly desirable; experience with Y Combinator is an advantage.
