Job Overview
We are seeking a Safety Officer at the Assistant Manager level to join Samsung Display Noida Private Limited, based in Noida, India. This role is dedicated to managing and enhancing safety protocols across the plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments and develop standard operating procedures aligned with the Factories Act and National Building Code (NBC).
- Ensure emergency preparedness and response readiness in collaboration with the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team to maintain plant safety standards.
- Oversee and enforce compliance with fire safety regulations, conducting periodic safety audits within the plant premises.
- Manage overall plant safety operations, including the handling and supervision of heavy machinery, equipment loading, unloading, and shifting activities.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards, and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Codes 2020 to safety initiatives.
- Utilize data analytics for uploading global safety reports into the system, enhancing tracking and reporting efficiency.
- Ensure recruitment from companies with at least 800 employees, indicating experience managing safety in large-scale operations.
- Develop, implement, and uphold EHS policies and processes conforming to state and central governmental regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to reveal potential hazards and confirm adherence to safety standards.
- Lead employee training sessions regarding EHS policies, practices, and emergency procedures to promote safety awareness.
- Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses thoroughly, creating detailed reports and recommending corrective measures.
- Track EHS performance indicators and generate comprehensive management reports.
- Stay updated on the latest EHS regulations, industry trends, and emerging safety technologies.
- Serve as the main liaison with regulatory bodies and coordinate compliance audits related to safety.
- Organize and facilitate EHS committee meetings to encourage active employee involvement in safety programs.
- Host safety workshops and meetings to raise awareness and enhance employee participation in safety initiatives.
- Maintain and manage safety equipment, oversee its proper use and maintenance, and ensure compliance with environmental and waste disposal requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with a Post Diploma in Industrial Safety from recognized institutions such as RLI or CLI are highly preferred.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in any specialization to be eligible for this position.
