Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Safety Officer position in the Greater Kolkata Area. The role focuses on putting safety procedures into practice, checking that health, safety, and security requirements are followed, and helping create a secure environment for employees, customers, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine safety checks across the facility and spot potential hazards before they lead to issues.
• Help assess risks and support the creation and upkeep of preventive safety measures.
• Track compliance with health, safety, and security standards and report gaps where needed.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and incident-related reports.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver safety awareness sessions for staff at different levels.
• Take part in accident and incident reviews, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Work closely with operations and security teams to sustain safe workplace practices and emergency readiness.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of health and safety practices, occupational health principles, and relevant regulations.
• Hands-on ability to investigate accidents, document findings, and support corrective and preventive action plans.
• Capability to create and conduct safety training programs that build awareness across teams.
• Security-related awareness and coordination skills, including access control, emergency response, and asset protection support.
• Good communication, observation, and reporting skills, with the ability to influence safer behavior.
• Prior experience in retail, warehousing, or manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
• Certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or an equivalent occupational health and safety credential is beneficial.
• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
