Restaurant Utility Worker

Role Overview

Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and running smoothly. This role focuses on day-to-day upkeep, deep cleaning, and basic maintenance for both the building and its equipment.

The position is based in Metter, Georgia and is full-time, on-site. The workplace also offers a team-oriented environment with room to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all required training assigned by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept restaurant environment.
• Carry out routine and unscheduled cleaning tasks, along with simple maintenance work.
• Clean restaurant equipment regularly and complete preventative maintenance.
• Check equipment for issues by inspecting, operating, or testing it as needed.
• Handle minor lighting repairs and similar small fixes.
• Perform thorough cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Review and follow equipment manuals and work orders correctly.
• Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures, outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for preventative maintenance needs.
• Make basic repairs when needed.
• Understand and apply safety rules, operating instructions, and related procedures.
• Keep maintenance records accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Follow all company policies, operational standards, and Zaxby’s / Zax LLC guidelines.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and follow all safety procedures.
• Stay flexible and support tasks beyond the core duties of the role when needed.
• Report HR-related and risk-management concerns to the General Manager and District Manager right away.
• Escalate additional concerns to a supervisor when appropriate.
• Complete other tasks needed to keep restaurant operations functioning properly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• For full-time employment, availability must be 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Must be open to working a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Leadership qualities, organizational ability, and a cooperative approach to teamwork are expected.
• Must be physically able to sit, stand, and walk continuously.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb at times, including ladder use.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Requires continual use of hands and wrists for gripping and fine motor tasks.
• Must be able to communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing.
• Must be able to notice and respond to surroundings through good visual and audio awareness.
• Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in hot and cold conditions and around food and outdoor allergens.
• Must be able to use restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.

Eligibility and Working Hours

This role is open to applicants who are 18 years of age or older and have reliable transportation. The company notes the following availability expectations: part-time team members should be available for 9 to 28 hours per week, while full-time team members should be available for 32 to 40 hours per week.
