Role Overview
The Research Officer is a remote contract position that supports the creation, assessment, and refinement of precision software and tactical tools. The work centers on structured research, data gathering and validation, and the use of statistical techniques to support product development and performance evaluation. The role also includes producing clear reports, visual materials, and documentation for internal teams, while sharing insights in a concise and actionable way. You will work closely with technical and product stakeholders to improve calculation frameworks, suggest enhancements, and make sure research deliverables meet project goals and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structured research to support the design and ongoing improvement of precision software and tactical tools.
- Collect, verify, and organize data for analysis and product evaluation.
- Apply quantitative and qualitative methods, including statistical approaches, to interpret findings.
- Prepare concise reports, visualizations, and documentation for internal stakeholders.
- Communicate research outcomes clearly and in a format that can be acted on quickly.
- Partner with technical and product teams to refine calculation frameworks and propose improvements.
- Ensure research outputs align with project objectives, accuracy requirements, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Solid analytical ability and hands-on experience using both quantitative and qualitative methods to solve complex problems.
- Practical background in research and statistics, including collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Strong report-writing skills and the ability to communicate in a structured, accurate, and clear manner.
- Comfortable collaborating remotely, presenting findings, and working with cross-functional teams.
- Helpful familiarity with data analysis tools or statistical software such as Excel, R, Python, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage several tasks at once, and meet deadlines in a remote contract environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related area such as statistics, data science, engineering, or social sciences.
- Prior exposure to technical or defense-related research, or experience with precision software and calculation frameworks, is a plus.
