As a Relationship Associate within the Agricultural team, you will assist Relationship Managers by delivering smooth banking experiences. Your role will include financial analysis to offer tailored customer solutions and dedicated support to specific Commercial and Small Business client groups.

Within your first 12 months, you may receive a small Credit Approval Delegation and the management of a modest portfolio of accounts, contingent on senior management approval. This opportunity is designed for individuals who demonstrate emerging talent and have the potential to advance into full Relationship Manager duties.

This position is based in Southland (Gore or Invercargill) and is a 12-month fixed-term assignment. The weekly working hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 37.5 hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage attentively with customers to understand their business and service needs, ensuring they feel valued.
  • Develop insights into customer portfolios, including their size, goals, challenges, and value drivers.
  • Enhance the bank’s presence by exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of customer industries and market trends.
  • Potentially manage a small portfolio of clients if assigned by senior leadership.
  • Foster strong collaborations with Relationship Managers, Senior Managers, and product teams to deliver customized solutions and address customer issues.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by managing interactions thoughtfully and providing insightful, value-adding information.
  • Utilize customer feedback to improve experiences and support customer loyalty.
  • Proactively seek personal development opportunities while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating and sustaining strong customer relationships in a service-oriented role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of structuring security arrangements related to lending.
  • Robust analytical skills to evaluate financial data and interpret trends.
  • Experience within banking or financial services sectors.
  • Prior exposure to financial or lending environments is advantageous.
