Overview
Based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, the Reinsurance Credit Controller will manage the entire process linked to unpaid reinsurance premiums and claims recoveries. This role involves nurturing effective relationships with reinsurers and brokers and delivering insightful reports to management with clear pathways for escalation as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage credit control and the debt collection process.
- Track and monitor reinsurance claim recoveries due, overdue, and aged unreconciled premiums.
- Investigate, compute, and rectify financial technical transactions related to claims and premiums.
- Collaborate with various internal departments such as Finance, Ceded Re TA, and TO to address discrepancies, engaging both internal teams and external parties including reinsurers and brokers.
- Perform reconciliations of reinsurance and broker statements.
- Monitor, match, and allocate receipts accurately.
- Accelerate collections on aged reinsurance claim recoveries.
- Maintain regular engagement with reinsurers and brokers to develop rapport and resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide monthly analyses of credit control balances.
- Assist senior management with preparation of reporting packs.
- Comply with company administrative, health & safety, and expense procedures.
- Represent AXA XL professionally at all times.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Relevant prior experience in credit control or similar roles.
- Experience within the financial services sector is advantageous.
- Good understanding of the technical requirements pertaining to credit control in reinsurance.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues effectively with sound decision-making.
- Ability to interpret and manipulate data accurately and communicate key insights clearly.
- Meticulous attention to detail with an aptitude for spotting inconsistencies in data.
- Excellent organizational skills including effective time management, prioritization, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Positive, proactive attitude and ownership over tasks.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team, using initiative where needed.
- Demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and calmness under pressure with the capability to adjust to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated and ambitious, with a strong drive to improve and deliver results.
