Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our client's team in Kildare, Ireland. This permanent, onsite position involves conducting stringent quality control testing on raw materials, samples, and finished products to ensure compliance and maintain high standards within the laboratory.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage daily laboratory operations to support quality assurance processes.
- Perform routine quality tests such as Brix, pH, and turbidity on products and raw materials to verify adherence to specifications.
- Prepare and select standard samples for comparison, and oversee handling of Certificates of Analysis.
- Ensure accurate documentation of safety and quality protocols, including HACCP compliance, maintaining thorough records of all laboratory activities.
- Coordinate the packaging and dispatch of samples for external lab testing when required.
- Regularly clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments; organize storage and disposal of retained samples while keeping the workspace clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Identify areas for quality process improvements, propose and implement solutions to enhance QC functions.
- Strictly follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety guidelines, and test specifications throughout all tasks.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline is essential.
- At least two years of practical experience working in laboratory or quality control environments.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem resolution abilities, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
