Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced QC Analyst to join our expanding Scientific In-sourcing team. This role involves performing testing on pharmaceutical substances such as raw materials and drug substances within a GMP-compliant environment, primarily focusing on gas chromatography (GC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), alongside other analytical methods as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive training provided by SGS and clients to become proficient in relevant analytical techniques, actively maintaining up-to-date qualifications and training colleagues where qualified.
- Execute testing in strict accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated at the prescribed intervals.
- Manage inventory and track the status of analytical materials.
- Verify and review test results from other analysts when authorized, ensuring compliance.
- Accurately enter data into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Evaluate test outcomes, closing out batch analyses appropriately.
- Meet all testing deadlines, update progress tracking tools, and communicate testing status in meetings.
- Maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment adhering to high housekeeping standards.
- Produce precise lab records guaranteeing work is completed accurately and timely.
- Develop and maintain essential documentation including SOPs, methods, and reports.
- Collaborate as an effective team member to meet and surpass client and company key performance indicators related to investigations, training, productivity, and punctual testing.
- Report and document any atypical or irregular results, conducting investigations as necessary.
- Lead laboratory investigations and manage deviations where required.
- Maintain a safe workplace environment in readiness for audits.
- Identify and implement improvements in safety, environmental practices, quality, and service.
- Engage in continuous self-development and career progression in consultation with leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Chemistry or equivalent scientific qualification (Level 7).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a GMP laboratory; GMP experience is essential.
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, data integrity, and analytical technologies such as HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer titration, IR spectroscopy, particle size distribution (PSD), X-ray techniques, and wet chemistry.
- Excellent organizational skills coupled with effective verbal and written communication.
- Team-oriented, adaptable to evolving requirements, with a strong customer service focus.
- Commitment to high standards of quality and safety.
- Proficiency with laboratory computer systems including LIMS and Trackwise.
