Role Overview

The Public Works Foreman role is a permanent, onsite position stationed in Oxbow, SK, tasked with leading and managing daily functions of the public works department. This position involves coordinating, supervising, and executing maintenance work on roads, sidewalks, water and sewer systems, along with other public infrastructure. The Foreman will direct public works employees, assign responsibilities, and oversee that tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with municipal standards and laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations related to municipal infrastructure maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate routine upkeep of roads, sidewalks, and water and sewer systems.
• Supervise and assign tasks to public works staff to ensure timely and quality completion.
• Operate and monitor machinery and equipment used in municipal maintenance.
• Schedule and manage seasonal activities such as snow removal and landscaping.
• Maintain detailed records regarding projects and maintenance activities.
• Communicate progress and resource requirements to town administration.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, after-hours calls, and weather-related incidents impacting public infrastructure.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience in public works, construction, or maintenance of municipal infrastructure.
