About ATB Financial
ATB Financial aims to empower its clients, employees, and communities by living its core values daily. Recognized repeatedly as one of Canada's top employers, ATB fosters a high-performance culture grounded in three core commitments: enabling impact at every level, promoting inclusivity and safety for individuals, and preparing employees for future success through challenging work and continuous development.
Role Overview
This Project Coordinator position offers a hybrid work setup, typically requiring two days onsite weekly, subject to change based on business needs. The role supports strategic projects within ATB's Digital and Wealth portfolios, closely collaborating with Program and Project Managers to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, budget adherence, and project progress. It is an excellent opportunity for ambitious professionals eager to expand their project management skills and advance towards a Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and update project plans, timelines, and deliverables across Digital and Wealth initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready documentation, including charters, scope statements, risk registers, and lessons learned logs.
- Monitor financial expenditures relative to budgets, highlight potential financial concerns, and prepare status updates for stakeholders.
- Identify and document risks and potential obstacles early, supporting mitigation strategies to keep project timelines on track.
- Act as the main operational contact point for cross-functional teams, external vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, record key decisions, and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
- Assist in creating visual reports, including updates, dashboards, and presentations summarizing portfolio and project statuses.
- Support resource coordination efforts such as onboarding team members and managing necessary project tools.
- Manage vendor invoicing, purchase orders, and maintain basic financial tracking related to project activities.
- Engage in post-project reviews to enhance processes and incorporate best practices for improved project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- One to three years of experience in project coordination, junior project management, or advanced administrative support roles within structured project environments.
- Proficient with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and general project tracking software.
- Strong organizational skills capable of juggling multiple tasks, managing deadline changes, and maintaining detailed project documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a natural aptitude for connection, trust-building, and cross-department collaboration.
- A proactive and detail-focused approach, anticipating issues and contributing practical solutions.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for a career in project management, with pursuit or possession of certifications like CAPM or PMP.
- Familiarity with project delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Experience using tools such as Jira or Smartsheet is advantageous but not mandatory.
Diversity and Inclusion
Applicants who meet most but not all listed requirements are encouraged to apply as unique skills and experiences are valued. ATB is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities it serves and supports reconciliation efforts in partnership with Indigenous organizations.
Additional Information
Candidates shortlisted will be contacted post-application closure. ATB provides accommodations upon request during the hiring process to support all applicants' success.
