About the Role

We are recruiting a dedicated Operations & Project Coordinator for a reputable building construction, renovation, maintenance, and facilities management firm servicing multinational organizations, diplomatic missions, and corporate clients in Lagos. This full-time position is site-based in Lagos, Nigeria, and involves overseeing multiple ongoing projects to completion with emphasis on quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role is the foremost operations liaison on construction project sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage coordination of several construction projects simultaneously by organizing daily site workflows and ensuring schedules are adhered to.
  • Supervise artisans and subcontractors, assign daily duties, and track the workmanship quality and productivity on site.
  • Act as the onsite client representative by attending inspections, offering timely updates, and promptly addressing arising concerns.
  • Handle procurement activities including sourcing materials, comparing supplier quotes, monitoring deliveries, and verifying materials meet project specifications.
  • Implement strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) measures by conducting toolbox talks, enforcing use of PPE, and reporting any incidents or near misses immediately.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation including daily site reports, weekly progress updates, site inspection reports, and project completion records.
  • Assist in cost estimation processes through measurements, supplier quotations, and formulation of competitive bids.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks or delays early while maintaining transparent communication with management and clients throughout all project phases.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related disciplines.
  • Have at least five years’ experience coordinating construction projects with a background in subcontractor management.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze construction drawings effectively.
  • Knowledge of HSE protocols appropriate for active construction sites.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.

Project Management Expertise

  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Trello, or Asana for scheduling and tracking.
  • Track record of applying systematic project management techniques to control timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.

Additional Skills

  • Proficient in report writing geared towards client communications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience collaborating with foreign missions, diplomatic clients, or within oil and gas/HSE-regulated sectors is an advantage but not mandatory.

Compensation & Work Conditions

The role offers a monthly gross salary ranging between ₦500,000 to ₦600,000 with additional site allowances. The position requires physical presence on various project sites across Lagos.
