As demand for AI and hyperscale data centres expands rapidly, we are growing our Busbar business within the New Product Development & Introduction (NPDI) team. About Busbar
Busbar technology provides an advanced, efficient means of distributing electrical power from main sources to servers, UPS units, cooling systems, and other critical data centre loads. Unlike traditional cable-based setups, Busbars offer modularity, scalability, and efficiency, making them pivotal in modern AI and large-scale facilities.
Role Summary
The Program Manager will oversee the complete lifecycle of new product development and sustaining engineering projects, coordinating efforts from concept phase through to production. The role involves cross-departmental collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, logistics, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure projects meet timeline, budget, scope, and quality requirements safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct cross-functional planning and execution of NPDI projects, ensuring alignment with objectives.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, scope, and delivery quality.
- Coordinate activities among engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial departments.
- Track project schedules, highlight critical paths, manage milestones and resource allocation.
- Identify risks early and formulate mitigation strategies; resolve project issues promptly.
- Produce and share regular progress reports and updates with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Create and maintain project documentation including plans, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Ensure adherence to Vertiv's NPDI Stage Gate process for new product introduction.
- Facilitate communication among internal teams and external partners.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts for project delivery and business outcomes.
- Promote a collaborative and high-performance project delivery environment.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of project or program management experience.
- Proven background managing manufacturing-based New Product Development projects.
- Familiarity with Waterfall or Stage Gate project methodologies.
- Strong abilities in project scheduling and planning, including Gantt chart management.
- Experience with KPI reporting and stakeholder communications.
- Competence in project risk identification and mitigation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capacities.
- Skilled in leading cross-functional project teams and meetings.
- Fluent English communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Adept at relationship-building and influencing across multiple business units.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet tools.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution, 3-phase systems, or Busbar product domains.
- Experience working within a global manufacturing organization.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering fields preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training is advantageous but not mandatory.
