Program Manager EPMO (Qatarization)

Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the integrity of value cases across a portfolio of divisional and departmental PMO teams within Qatar Airways. It includes validating benefits, protecting value during execution, and collaborating closely with Corporate Development, Transformation, and Process Excellence to ensure initiatives are cohesive, non-duplicative, and enhance overall Group performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the creation and management of the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) as the central hub for program oversight, ensuring structured governance and execution across QR Group initiatives.
• Position the EPMO as the primary business partner for assigned departments and divisions, assisting with implementation, measurement, and enhancement of plans and associated benefits such as KPIs and OKRs.
• Promote the use of EPMO tools and maintain a unified source for portfolio and benefits reporting.
• Develop, uphold, and continually improve project, program, and portfolio management standards, frameworks, and governance practices at the Group level.
• Standardize project delivery methods, including tools, templates, and reporting mechanisms across the organization.
• Manage stage-gate reviews to ensure initiatives have adequate evidence and justification for value before progression.
• Enhance PMO maturity organization-wide, integrating best practices in planning, governance, benefits and risk management, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Heads of Department as a program management partner, providing tools and resources for monitoring project status, risks, and issues, involving Transformation business partners as necessary.
• Lead internal engagement and integrated road-mapping efforts, embedding program management as a core aspect of ongoing business operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and their expectations are addressed effectively.
• Perform additional duties related to the position as assigned by the Department Head.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent command of English, with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proven managerial abilities including delegation, direction setting, workflow management, mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering team collaboration.
• Experience in enterprise program management, project governance, and leadership reporting within medium to large multinational companies.
• Demonstrated success leading extensive programs or projects with significant scopes.
• Sound understanding of financial principles pertinent to project and program budgeting.
• Skilled in stakeholder management within complex, multi-cultural organizational environments.
