Role overview

The business is looking for an Evening Despatch Supervisor to join the Watergrasshill, Cork team. This is a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Logistics Manager, and it is suited to someone who wants to step into a leadership position and progress their career.

Working pattern

This is an evening-shift role with working hours from Sunday to Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM. On Sundays, the shift normally finishes earlier, at around 8:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

  • Guide and support the despatch team so day-to-day operations remain safe and efficient.
  • Plan and oversee order picking, loading, and despatch work to satisfy customer needs.
  • Keep track of stock flow, rotation, and inventory accuracy.
  • Make sure export paperwork and despatch documents are completed correctly and within deadlines.
  • Use and supervise PPT, forklift, and shunter operations for trailer loading and unloading.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and other teams to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Handle daily operational challenges and resolve issues as they come up.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-organised despatch area with strong housekeeping standards.
  • Support team attendance, performance, training, and holiday scheduling.
  • Provide CGI cover when required.
  • Look for and help introduce improvements that make the operation better.
