Role Overview
Metricon Homes is a highly awarded Australian home builder focused on creating quality homes and delivering excellent service. Based in the Parkside Office in South Australia, this position owns the estimating workflow from start to finish, helping ensure each home build is priced accurately, meets compliance requirements, and remains commercially viable. The role also involves working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to keep production moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce precise quantity take-offs and build cost estimates.
- Prepare purchase orders and work orders promptly and accurately.
- Review supplier and trade quotes, then generate margin and cost analysis reports.
- Help maintain profitability and cost control across residential builds.
- Work in coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Assist with managing the production workflow for active jobs.
- Apply the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards to support compliance.

Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant brings at least 2 years of estimating experience in residential construction and understands the end-to-end home building process. Experience in volume home building is considered an advantage, as is familiarity with estimating platforms such as DataBuild or Timberline. The role suits someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable analysing numbers, able to handle multiple deadlines, and proactive in finding solutions.
