Product Owner - Generative AI

Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Owner specializing in Generative AI to lead product vision, development, and delivery for AI-driven solutions. This remote contract role based in Canada requires overseeing the entire product lifecycle to fulfill business goals and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and steer product vision, establish roadmaps, and manage product backlogs specifically for AI and Generative AI initiatives.
• Collect and analyze business requirements, transforming them into detailed user stories and clear acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize features by assessing business impact and user needs to increase value delivery.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and success.
• Lead Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to maintain efficient workflows.
• Identify and assess AI and Generative AI use cases aimed at driving business innovation and transformation.
• Ensure successful launch and ongoing improvement of AI products that align with company strategic objectives.
• Track product performance metrics, user adoption rates, and business outcomes to guide continuous enhancements.
• Effectively communicate product developments and roadmap progress with all relevant cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Advocate for and implement AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices that foster ethical and robust product improvements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least eight years of professional experience in roles such as Product Owner, Product Manager, Technical Product Owner, Business Product Owner, or Agile Product Owner.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience delivering AI or Generative AI products in a professional environment.
• Strong track record managing Agile product teams and driving enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
• Excellent skills in leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication.

Preferred Certifications

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
• SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
• Pragmatic Product Management Certification (desirable)
