Product Designer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Designer to lead the creation and refinement of user experiences for our marketplace and subscription-based products. Reporting directly to Product Managers and working alongside a senior product designer, you will manage the entire design process from initial research and wireframing through to polished user interface delivery. Your work will simplify complex workflows into clear, attractive interfaces that delight hundreds of thousands of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the complete design journey, including research, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI assets.
• Convert user requirements and business objectives into seamless, visually appealing product experiences.
• Engage with product managers and developers to define scope and prioritize design strategies.
• Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive mockups to clearly communicate design rationales.
• Develop and maintain a scalable, consistent design system for visual uniformity.
• Represent the user's perspective while balancing business priorities and release schedules.
• Rapidly iterate designs based on user data, feedback, and key performance indicators.
• Produce high-quality visual designs and assets ready for engineering handoff.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum three years experience as a Product Designer or UI/UX Designer in SaaS, marketplaces, or product-driven companies.
• An impressive portfolio demonstrating complete product design execution from UX through visual UI.
• Proficiency in advanced design tools, primarily Figma or equivalent software.
• Strong knowledge of usability, interaction design, and adaptive layouts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and leadership.
• Comfort working in a dynamic startup environment with minimal supervision and high independence.
• Self-driven and accountable to meet deadlines without requiring continuous oversight.
• Fluency in English.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with two-sided marketplaces or platforms geared towards creator economies.
• Background designing marketing websites or landing pages.
• Graphic design expertise, including marketing materials, social media visuals, or branding.
• Familiarity with motion graphics, interaction design, and fast prototyping tools.
• Basic front-end coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to enhance collaboration with developers.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary between 70000 and 75000 CAD.
