About the company
ListAid is an AI-driven listing platform built for charity shops and resellers in the UK. It converts product photos into complete online listings, cutting out manual data entry and the need for technical know-how. The tool is designed to help charity retailers publish more items in less time, improve listing quality, and increase online sales while allowing staff and volunteers to concentrate on their main work. Its broader aim is to turn donated inventory into sustainable online income for UK charity retailers and resellers.
Role overview
This is a focused 3-month contract for a Product Designer to work closely with the engineering team and the Managing Director on improving and evolving the ListAid app experience. The role is hands-on and covers the full design process, from early user journeys and wireframes through to polished UI ready for development. It suits someone who can move quickly in a small, fast-paced team where work is shipped often.
You will be working on a blend of new feature design and enhancements to existing flows, using the current brand system rather than creating one from the ground up.
What you will do
- Create complete product experiences for new and existing features, moving from wireframes to high-fidelity interface designs.
- Use Figma to work within and expand the current design system and brand rules.
- Partner directly with engineering to keep solutions practical and handoff-ready.
- Translate feedback from charity shop staff, volunteers, and resellers into usable design improvements.
- Help shape usability choices for users who may not be technical and may be cautious about using new technology.
- Join short, regular check-ins with the Managing Director, CEO, and engineering team.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio showing shipped product or UI design work, preferably in SaaS or B2B products.
- Confident use of Figma, including components, auto-layout, and design systems.
- Ability to design for non-technical users with a focus on clarity and simplicity.
- Comfort working independently with limited supervision in a small, fast-moving environment.
- Must be based in the UK and available for the full 3-month contract.
- Willingness to work on a contract basis and invoice through a limited company or umbrella setup, where relevant.
Nice to have
- Background in retail, e-commerce, or marketplace products.
- Understanding of accessibility practices for older users or people who are less confident with technology.
- Experience in an early-stage startup.
Engagement details
This is a 3-month contract role with possible extension. The position is based in London, UK, with remote or hybrid working options.
