About the Role

Join a global leader in certification with over 125 years of history in setting standards and helping organizations improve safety, quality, and trust. As a Product Certification Auditor, you will play a vital role in evaluating product compliance with BSI's certification schemes and Kitemark standards within diverse manufacturing environments. This position is field-based covering Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United Kingdom, requiring frequent travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct product certification audits primarily in Structural Steel (EN 1090), Concrete, Aggregates and Construction Product Regulation schemes.
  • Prepare detailed assessment reports and effectively communicate findings and corrective directions to clients.
  • Recommend issuance, re-issuance, or withdrawal of certifications following BSI policies and timelines.
  • Maintain responsibility and accountability for assigned client accounts, ensuring excellent service and fostering business growth.
  • Lead audit teams when necessary, ensuring thorough briefing and maintaining quality service and teamwork.
  • Collaborate closely with support functions to ensure accurate and prompt updates of client records and information.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues, including new and less experienced assessors, especially regarding client-specific business and technologies.
  • Manage workload efficiently to maximize billable audit activities.
  • Complete an extensive onboarding and training program to achieve Lead Assessor status, demonstrating knowledge through standardized assessments.
  • Manage the entire audit process from scheduling client visits, planning assessments, travel arrangements, conducting audits to reporting and managing results.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in product manufacturing with a focus on quality management or product certification.
  • Educational background preferably in engineering or related manufacturing disciplines.
  • Previous experience in product auditing or assessments against recognized standards.
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality management system auditing practices; Lead Auditor 9001 qualification is highly desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the UK.
