Role Overview
Red Carrot is searching for a Producer / Video Editor to support its federal government client. This role entails leading all phases of video production, spanning pre-production planning, filming, editing, and delivering finished content. The individual will partner with clients and team members to craft creative concepts, operate professional cameras, and ensure high-quality video results. Additional duties include managing video post-production, troubleshooting technical issues, assisting in content development strategies, maintaining production equipment, and producing project reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee video production from initial planning, script development, storyboarding, and direction.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design video concepts aligned with project goals.
- Coordinate the filming process by setting up equipment, directing talent, and securing quality footage.
- Operate mirrorless cameras including FX3, A7IV, and A6600 to capture superior video content.
- Edit raw footage by performing cutting, color correction, sound design, and incorporating graphics and effects.
- Work alongside creative teams to refine video edits ensuring project vision is met.
- Deliver videos in appropriate formats compliant with broadcast or online standards.
- Conduct light photography assignments to gather still images complementing video projects.
- Process and edit photos to harmonize with the organization's visual direction.
- Maintain and manage all video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and editing software tools.
- Identify and resolve technical problems during production and post-production phases.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in video production and editing technology.
- Manage inventory by tracking production equipment and overseeing check-in/check-out logs, ensuring timely and proper return of gear.
- Participate in developing content strategies to strengthen brand presence and messaging across various platforms.
- Assist in planning and producing content suited for television, digital, and social media channels.
- Collaborate closely with other producers, editors, and graphic designers to create unified storytelling and branding experiences.
- Mentor junior staff members, promoting a cooperative and creative work environment.
- Prepare regular reports summarizing project status, challenges faced, and solutions implemented.
- Organize and archive project files, final edits, and equipment records for easy access and documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience in video production and editing, especially within broadcast or related fields.
- Proven ability to manage video projects from inception through final output.
- Familiarity with FX3 camera usage, light photography skills, and inventory oversight is highly valued.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is required.
- Strong knowledge of video production tools including cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
- Experience with motion graphics and VFX tools like After Effects is advantageous.
- Exceptional storytelling talents with keen visual composition skills.
- Capability to create creative concepts that engage target viewers effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities facilitating teamwork and client interaction.
- Strong organizational and project management competencies able to juggle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic broadcast studio environment with tight schedules.
- Some travel may be required for field shoots.
- Physical ability to carry and manage equipment during production assignments.
