Job Purpose
The Procurement Assistant will be integral in securing quality products, managing supplier negotiations, sustaining appropriate stock quantities, and ensuring timely acquisition of materials vital for operational continuity. The role emphasizes cost-effective procurement while safeguarding quality standards and optimizing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure aluminum extrusions, hardware, and associated materials effectively.
- Build and nurture strong partnerships with both local and international suppliers.
- Generate purchase orders and track deliveries for punctual receipt.
- Maintain inventory at balanced levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Evaluate supplier performance focusing on quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Warehouse, Production, and Finance teams to meet procurement needs.
- Analyze purchasing data to unearth cost-saving opportunities.
- Address supplier inquiries and discrepancies regarding shipments and invoices promptly.
- Comply with company procurement policies and industry best practices.
- Compile procurement data and maintain precise purchase records.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
- Background in aluminum extrusion, manufacturing, construction, engineering, steel, or building materials is highly preferred.
- Proven negotiation skills and managing end-to-end procurement processes.
- Solid understanding of inventory control and supply chain management principles.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- High accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software navigation.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- A diploma or degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, or related fields is advantageous.
