Role Overview
Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver based at the Camberley Delivery Office (GU15 3HA). This is a permanent contract position offering a competitive wage of £13.68 per hour plus paid overtime. The role involves working a 37-hour week spread across 5 out of 7 days between Monday and Sunday, with shifts starting at 7am or 11am/3pm or 8pm on a rotating schedule. Working on Sundays at Goldsworth Park Delivery Office 1 is required once every four weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort letters and parcels within the delivery office.
- Deliver mail by van and on foot throughout the local Camberley area.
- Act as the face of Royal Mail by building positive relationships with customers.
- Work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
Nature of Work
This position is physically demanding and fast-paced. It involves walking long distances daily—up to 12 miles or more than 20,000 steps—operating a Royal Mail van, and handling large volumes of letters and parcels. The workload can be particularly high during busy periods, requiring strong time management and resilience.
Candidate Profile
- Must hold a full manual UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points and registered to your current name and address.
- Must be willing to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment.
- Physically capable of walking long distances, carrying mailbags over 10kg, and managing stairs or hills.
- Reliable, self-driven, and able to work independently.
- Strongly organized with the ability to remain resilient in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service oriented, taking pride in consistently delivering excellent service.
- Comfortable working outdoors and adapting to changing conditions.

Additional Information
Note that roles working between 35 to 37 hours per week are classified as full-time for recruitment purposes; however, contracts may define under 37 hours as part-time. No CV is required for application; candidates complete an online test followed by an interview with the manager. The role includes responsibility for securely delivering all assigned mail including election materials and age-restricted items such as food and alcohol, maintaining Royal Mail’s business standards.
