Role Overview
The Portfolio Loan Processor is responsible for managing the entire loan processing cycle from origination to funding within a fast-paced, high-volume team setting. This role serves as the main contact for borrowers, manufactured home dealerships, and other parties throughout the transaction to ensure smooth communication, compliance, and timely loan closing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service to borrowers and manufactured home retailers through clear, prompt communication about requirements and processes.
- Obtain and verify essential loan documents from borrowers, builders, title companies, and third-party vendors.
- Evaluate credit files carefully, reviewing title commitments, income, assets, and credit reports for accuracy.
- Ensure loan files comply with company portfolio guidelines before underwriting submission.
- Prepare and organize loan packages to facilitate efficient underwriting review.
- Accurately calculate income and resolve certain underwriting conditions.
- Work collaboratively with underwriters and loan officers to address outstanding issues and restructure loan files as needed.
- Coordinate with the Closing Department to expedite final loan reviews and funding.
- Adhere strictly to federal and state lending regulations throughout the loan portfolio.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years' experience in mortgage loan processing.
- In-depth knowledge of manufactured housing loan processing is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of federal lending compliance laws.
- Ability to prioritize tasks logically and maintain accuracy under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, active listening ability, and team collaboration mindset.
- Flexibility to adapt to business needs, including availability to work overtime when necessary.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with construction lending.
- Familiarity with Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS).
