Job Overview

We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Porter Supervisor position at Perth Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will supervise the porter team daily to maintain an efficient and safe service that meets the needs of wards and departments. Responsibilities include overseeing the delivery and collection of meals, mail, specimens, stores, equipment, medical gases, clinical and confidential waste, and various miscellaneous items across the hospital campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervisory support to portering staff ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Deliver training and conduct risk assessments relevant to portering duties.
  • Manage portering services supporting wards, departments and responding to patient, visitor, and public requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and codes of conduct.

Candidate Profile

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good communication skills and capability to follow instructions effectively.
  • Capability to handle unexpected situations calmly and work effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to achieving mandatory induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.

Working Hours and Conditions

The position requires a 30-hour work week from Monday to Friday, with possible weekend shifts as needed.
