Job Overview and Responsibilities

As a Plant Operator (Field) - I, you will be responsible for managing the start-up and shutdown of assigned plants and facilities following approved procedures. You will regularly inspect plant operations to ensure efficiency and identify malfunctions, promptly escalating issues to supervisors when needed. Maintaining logs of field instruments and conducting routine checks is essential. You will actively respond to emergencies by undertaking necessary field actions such as flaring, blowdown, isolations, and equipment switching in coordination with supervisors and console operators. Additional duties include sample collection for chemical and physical testing, supporting shift supervisors with communications and work permits, carrying out in-plant housekeeping, and sharing operational best practices with peers. Other tasks may be assigned by the Shift Supervisor as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or technical diploma.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years for high school graduates or 4 years for diploma holders in Naphtha operations.
• Strong familiarity with plant mechanisms, especially startup and shutdown field operations.
• Basic knowledge of instrumentation, Distributed Control System (DCS), and emergency shutdown systems.
• In-depth understanding of refinery or petrochemical plant layouts and processes.
• Committed to safety protocols and hazard prevention strategies.
