About the Role
Euro Group for Engineering Consultancy in Saudi Arabia is looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to contribute to large-scale construction and supervision projects nationwide. The role focuses on infrastructure developments, including roads, utilities, earthworks, and site formation, ensuring that projects adhere strictly to contractual deadlines without incurring delays or penalties.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, revise, and continuously maintain comprehensive project schedules covering all stages of construction and supervision.
- Track project advancement and verify alignment with the approved baseline plan.
- Guarantee project finalization within agreed contractual timeframes to prevent penalties or claims.
- Generate detailed weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and analytics for internal management and external clients.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, and contractors to validate progress updates and resolve scheduling issues.
- Assess productivity metrics, resource deployment, and activities sequencing to enhance project timelines.
- Detect potential risks and delays, assess their impact, and propose mitigation strategies to avoid contractual violations.
- Develop updated schedules, recovery strategies, and time-impact analyses as circumstances require.
- Ensure all planning activities meet contractual obligations, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Assist in claims analysis, time extension assessments, and delay impact evaluations in line with contract terms.
- Participate actively in technical and progress meetings, presenting timely planning insights and advice.
- Maintain thorough documentation to support compliance and safeguard the organization's interests during disputes.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Advanced proficiency with project planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Deep understanding of project control, scheduling methodologies, and critical path management.
- Experience with infrastructure projects including roads, utilities, earthworks, and site preparation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and related project documentation.
- Strong analytical capabilities for progress tracking, forecasting, and performance evaluation.
- Exceptional report writing skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of contractual requirements, compliance issues, and strategies to avoid penalties related to delays.
- Familiarity with risk management techniques and claims handling including time-impact analyses.
- Capability to efficiently manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least three years of practical experience within large construction or supervision firms in Saudi Arabia.
- Demonstrable experience specifically in infrastructure-related projects.
