Role Overview
We are seeking a Physics Specialist to work remotely on a part-time basis. The position involves formulating and solving intricate physics challenges to test the boundaries of large language models. The specialist will produce clear, detailed, stepwise solutions that articulate thorough reasoning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and solve advanced physics problems aimed at evaluating large language model capabilities.
- Produce detailed, stepwise explanations to assess and benchmark model performance.
- Collaborate with researchers specializing in large language models to ensure problem alignment with evaluation objectives, particularly emphasizing abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
- Assist in establishing new evaluation benchmarks derived from physics curricula spanning early undergraduate to doctoral levels.
- Provide constructive feedback and comprehensive annotations to improve model outputs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Strong foundational knowledge of physics including quantum mechanics, relativity, and electromagnetism.
- Proven ability to deconstruct complex physics concepts into clear, simplified explanations.
- Exceptional structured communication and collaboration skills suitable for remote teamwork.
- Excellent research, analytical, and creative thinking capabilities.
- Self-driven and able to work independently in a remote work setting.
