Role Overview

The Pharmacy Dispenser will play a crucial role in the specialised supply of cannabis-based medicines (CMBP) within a private pharmacy setting, working directly with Clinical Pharmacists to broaden patient access to these treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and verify prescriptions to prepare for clinical assessment.
• Handle patient information securely and accurately.
• Assist the Responsible Pharmacist and Technicians in daily pharmacy operations.
• Serve as the primary contact for pharmacy-related queries.
• Keep precise records related to the dispensing of CMBP.
• Manage inventory and ensure the security of CMBP stock onsite.
• Coordinate prescription communication with the Department of Health to comply with regulatory standards.
• Support pharmacy governance to maintain a high standard of safety.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Must be a UK qualified Pharmacy Dispenser.
• Completion of a CPD-accredited medical cannabis educational programme is preferred; training will be provided if needed.
• Self-driven with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify errors efficiently.
• Experience in pharmacy dispensary environments, from primary or secondary care settings.
• Ability to stay calm and patient under pressure while maintaining meticulous focus.
• Strong communication skills to interact with staff, patients, and healthcare professionals effectively.
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to ethical standards and excellent customer service.
• Proficient in computer applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
