Role Overview
The People Operations Manager is critical for delivering a high-quality, compliant operational experience throughout the entire teammate lifecycle at Evio. Reporting to the Head of Evio Experience, this role is pivotal in managing benefits, administering people operations, maintaining systems and vendor relationships, and offering dependable support. As the company grows, you'll be a key point of contact for teammates, ensuring timely guidance and smooth operational execution behind the scenes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and administer comprehensive benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, COBRA, and more.
- Serve as the internal authority on benefits, assisting teammates with inquiries and navigating life events.
- Resolve benefit-related issues by collaborating with teammates, brokers, carriers, and vendors.
- Manage leaves of absence and workplace accommodation processes.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with external brokers, vendors, and partners.
- Propose updates to benefits and people policies based on teammate feedback, operational data, and business evolution.
- Manage daily operations of people systems such as Justworks and future technology platforms, ensuring accurate records and workflow management.
- Document, sustain, and refine people processes to enable consistency and scalability.
- Maintain SOC compliance controls related to people operations.
- Identify and implement simplifications, automations, and process enhancements.
- Maintain the teammate handbook and ensure employment policies are current and compliant with applicable laws.
- Collaborate with Legal and senior leadership to uphold employment law compliance and consistent administrative practices.
- Coordinate onboarding, pre-boarding, offboarding, related logistics, documentation, and calendar management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years of experience managing people operations, HR, benefits administration, employee compliance, or roles with comparable operational responsibilities.
- Proficient in delivering benefits administration services and guiding teammates through benefits questions, life events, and leaves.
- Experienced in managing human resource information systems and maintaining accurate employee data and workflows.
- Skilled at managing vendor and broker relationships.
- Knowledgeable about human resources policies, employment law, compliance, accommodations, and leave administration.
- Capable of process documentation and continuous improvement in a growing organizational context.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and compassionately explain complex topics.
- Demonstrates discretion and professionalism handling confidential information.
- Strong service orientation and commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive company culture.
Compensation
The role offers an annual base salary between $100,000 and $130,000 along with opportunities for additional variable compensation. Salary decisions account for candidate experience, market factors, and business needs.
